Made this chibi awhile ago
was hesitant to post it though. I like it, so I am posting it in my main gallery. It will fit in just fine with all the other chibi art I have been posting, right?More simple cell-shade art! Don't worry, I hope to have some detailed photoshop shaded stuff finished within the coming weeks now that I got down to them in the commission list!
For some reason there has been a lot of hate going on in the Kid Icarus fanbase. I wonder if it was just me that got all this hate or if it was other artists in the fandom as well?
I wonder why fans can get so bent out of shape to the point they hate/flame/troll others for disagreeing with them.

He's so CUTE and I love how happy he looks. Got a face of optimism there and it fits well. I love seeing others' takes on bitty Pit. I think my only critique would be his hair color vs. his laurel crown. It looks like you were going for more of a bronze look and I know his hair was lighter way back when, and maybe it's just the light, but they blend together to me. But that's just what I see.
I haven't noticed much hate lately, though I have gotten a bit of flaming/trolling/what have you for stupid things in the past

I don't get what's wrong with this fandom. They purposely look art out just to troll the artist for whatever reason. Most recently, drawing Pit NES/GB era because those games are terrible and should not get support OR drawing Pit Uprising era because that game was terrible and should not get support.

NES Kid Icarus was an awesome game that I thoroughly enjoyed playing, and I'm working my way through Of Myths and Monsters right now. Uprising was definitely a step in a different direction, but I loved it. So no, I don't get what's wrong with the fandom and I try to just ignore the jerks and focus on the good stuff, like what you do.

Both games have their flaws and good points. I don't get why the fanbase is working so hard to drive a wedge between the games in the series. I've been ignoring as much as I could, but the amount of hate I get sent on tumblr gets a little overwhelming at times

I think I've established such a link between the games, or at least between the NES KI and Uprising, that my following can't find any real reason to complain. But it does stink that people feel the need to go after you with unnecessary hate.Β

It's not so much linking the two. People just simply don't want to accept the two eras as connected. People are constantly separating Pit for example. They don't want to accept that NES/GB Pit is the same Pit that was in Uprising.
Sadly most this is all based on their own personal head canon that either Uprising or original Kid Icarus clashed with, so they do the ignorant thing and say 'no I don't acknowledge that, MY head canon is truth'
So this chibi that I drew, I was attacked by NES/GB purists(or just one guy pretending to be a few) who hate a more androgynous looking or cute Pit. I was told I should take down the chibi from my tumblr and be ashamed I called myself a Kid Icarus fan for even ever liking any aspect of Uprising.

eeeh, just people giving me grief over everything. Supporting the older games in the series because to them the games are absolutely terrible with no redeeming qualities and Uprising is the best, or in other cases, supporting Uprising because that game was absolutely terrible with no redeeming qualities and the first two games are the best.
Fans to this series are crazy! It never used to be this hard just to draw fanart.
Kind of really put me off my fanart mood for awhile, but after commissions I think I will get it back XD

That cute little classic Pit. Β He surely has changed from his younger self quite a bit as far as clothing goes, and those silver stuff going to gold.

I don't really look at it as 'younger self' since I feel he has the same body age through existence(unless obviously if outside forces alter that). I kind of see it as just an alternative look he goes by~ Heck maybe even on some days he busts this outfit out!
