This photo (along with a couple of others which will be uploaded shortly) was taken when I visited Hedingham Castle in Essex, England, as they had an area behind the keep for their Birds of Prey that they used in their Falconry displays.This one is a Harris Hawk, I think. I'm not entirely sure on the names of some of the other raptors that I'm going to upload, see please feel free to comment letting me know what they are so I can change their title reflecting what they are

Oh, I saw a bird like this in zoo the other day, and it flew right past me. Quite fun actually.

This is really rad. I can sometimes spot Bald Eagles (once i saw a 16 bird flock) around my neighborhood but never able to see a bigger bird this close. The closest i ever seen is chickadees waiting for me to put up the bird feeder.

He's a beautiful bird, and the colour of the grass is very complementary to the hawk's rust-brown feathering

That's definately a Harris Hawk... beautiful bird, great hunter. They are one of the only birds of prey that hunt in groups... amazing.
