It's not been fully discussed between H-Falcon and myself, but it is difficult to pinpoint a definite number since there are many things to take into consideration.
1. The station is both very remote and run down which might make it impractical for a lot of people to live on it, so while the station, in its prime, could hold a decent number of people, in its current state, certain areas on the station could be too run down to live in any more, or with how remote it is, resources are scarce to provide for a large number of people.
2. On the other hand, it being remote and run down would mean the cost of living there would be very low so a lot more people would consider taking up residence there (not many people are well off and live in poverty).
3. And of course its size. I haven't decided on a definite size of the station. Regardless, a realistic number would be between 5,000 people (including temporary visitors), up to possibly as high as 20,000 (if the station was brand new and deeper in Concord space where resources were easier to get a hold of).

thank you kindly for not only answering the question but for also giving a wonderfully detailed description of why people would live there

As I mentioned on your recent livestream, I think this vista is amazing, but I thought I'd come here and say it too. I love the pink/lavender hues of the celestial body, and that almost cream-coloured glare to the horizon.Β More than anything, I really appreciate how somehow it manages to feel full of living presence, and yet, simultaneously, eerily empty - Isn't that a provoking theme for scenes such as this, of the smallest dots of habitation in the vastness of outer space, to convey..? There is action, in the ships to the left, but also a feeling of stagnancy as well. How long as the station of EUTS been operating, may I ask?Β

I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me here, too. Such amazing detailed comments like these always mean so much and having it here allows me to always remember and see it so I thank you so much for that.
It's one of the most humbling things I love about space scenes; just how small and insignificant we all are, yet how important and special we are to those that matter in our own little worlds.
I haven't given a specific age for the station, but it is very old and run down. Only those who have money for it (like Muora) are able to keep their property on the station looking decent. Most people though are borderline poverty-stricken or just don't care, so the station ends up looking its age in most locations. But to answer your question more directly: The station was built before Muora came to it, which was before Neelix was born. I know that's a rather vague answer, though. I do plan on eventually clearing details such as this up in the future.

I really agree with you about the power of space scenes and sequences, its such a powerful thing that always brings me back to science fiction ideas and expressions. Thank you for answering my question too, and don't worry about being vague, it still provides a nice context of the station's history relative to the characters. I'm looking forward to your future EUTS submissions c:

Wow, amazing work...Β
I love how much detail you put into the station, I kept zooming in and seeing more and more detail. All those window's lights really give a feel for how absolutely humongous the station is.Β

Thank you so much. I'm not sure if you watch my tumblr, but I provided some detail shots of this image there so you can see the full res of the station. The link is in the description if you're interested. c:

As always, you have completely captured my attention with this piece.
Your depiction of the station is stunning and clean, the void of space is simply marvelous in texture and color and I am loving your gas giant, Tesiod.
Keep up the good work!

Love this image, Lo! I adore seeing the scenery that your characters call home. It really binds it all together in a way; tying people to the life they are living in. The station is such a unique shape and I really like the dusty atmosphere that the gas giant seems to be giving off. Even though it's probably uninhabitable, the cold colors of space make even Tesiod (Tess -oye-d?) seem inviting.

Thank you, RP (and I apologize for a late reply to you!). Your comment is very meaningful and really makes me want to get my butt in gear to create more scenery images of the station. It's a big project, but as you pointed out, will really tie things together and really bring home the artistic direction of the environments to the viewer. It's something really important to me that I want to share.
Just to be sure of the pronunciation, the oid would be just like in void. I felt odd with the name being so similar to Tes' but Falcon suggested I keep it since it was chosen before Tes was even a character.
