He's in motion so he's moving it into place. I didn't intend it like that but it makes him look more unsure or rookie like so I left it like that. XD

Why are you just assuming it's a flamey thing? Could be any tool. Looks like a fastener of some type to me. Why just assume it is a torch? Really...

Lol I don't really know why either. Silly as it is and how Krogans don't act at all like Gale. I personally see Muora more like the dragon from Jackie Chan Adventures (who I just can't remember the name to at the moment), but more scaled and not...green...
I think my thought was how silly Wrex would run around when I tried to chase his little tail! XD And for one reason or another that memory attatched itself to Gale and his...suspisious actions.

Um, hate to butt in here...but out of curiosity, are you two talking about Shendu? The green demon/dragon from the Jackie Chan cartoons?

Lady-Owl In reply to Astrayal [2011-03-13 22:07:17 +0000 UTC]
Hmm.. wow, yeah he sorta reminds me of Muora but yeah, not green. XD I bet Falcon would totally disagree D:
I use to watch that show and I only vaguely remember that guy.

This is not the place for this. Please continue in PM's. I did not realise when replying the first time this was on an art piece. (That is what I get for responding in my message center and not realising it's on someone art.) So this is my fault. Please do not reply here. Respond in PM's if you wish to continue. Thank you.

I like the detail with the superheated metal fragments. Because they aren't just pretty 'sparks' of light. More like raining molten drops of excruciating pain. *sports a few scars from welding* He's pretty brave not wearing an apron, *shudder*

Lady-Owl In reply to Draconian23 [2011-03-14 13:08:25 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. I looked over a lot of images of welding and cutting to get myself more familiar with how everything looks for this drawing. I did notice that depending on the welding technique, there was sometimes intense blue light and smoke, so I had to decide how I wanted my image to look and of course that everything is alien so different technologies. It certainly was a lot of fun to work on.
And actually, I'm glad that someone with experience in welding commented. I was aware of the aprons but not of how dangerous it could be (Scars? Ouch) so thank you for pointing that out!

Draconian23 In reply to Lady-Owl [2011-03-15 16:44:10 +0000 UTC]
Some people wear aprons, some people wear denim work coveralls with a sort of leather 'mini-jacket' that only covers the sleeves; almost everyone wears gloves, because the arc can not only produce molten-hot bits of metal, but harmful UV rays as well. Only machines or welders with decades of experience can produce a weld without little or no spatter.
You did a great job, and I absolutely love the pic, but Neelix is much more a welder than I will ever be, if he's confident enough to weld without even pulling his shirt down a little more..
