My favorite Pokemon from my childhood and to this day, Moltres. Wanted to practice more digital art methods and timing myself to help work quicker, while watching the weather for my trip, so here is the result of that. Around 4 hours.

Oh, so lovely, LO! I love how soft everything is. It really gives Moltres a different feel. A soft, gentle glow rather than the sharp brightness of fire.

Thank you, RP. I know Moltres isn't as liked (and even mocked) in comparison to the other legendary birds, so I wanted to show off Moltres in a more subtle gentle way with desaturated colors and soft blurs. When I added in the debris, it immediately made me think Moltres had come to someone's rescue during a catastrophe.

It's weird, I was listening to this song when I opened this picture to view it, and man...I totally stared at it the whole time the song played. It really set the mood.
I love scenes like this -- the ones that have this overall emotion to them. I normally don't say things like this (I don't like to compare artists), but this piece really reminds me of something that Jennadelle would do, which is totally meant to be a compliment as they are one of my favorite artists! I love their work because of the moods they set in their images, and I think you've given me the same sort of feeling with this one. c: The gloomy lighting and glow of the Moltres really go well together.

Oddly I wasn't listening to any music while working on this; I think I'm all music-ed out from my live streams. ;__; But that's a good song that I wanna add to my playlist.
Jennadelle was actually a helpful influence and reminder on this one for me. I wanted to give the softer cel style of shading a try again since it reminded me of my older digital art, but now that I have my tablet, I haven't done the whole "gaussian blur" for smoothing out shading in a long time; I had forgotten how nice and Don Bluth/animated movie-esque it can look, which Jennadelle's work makes me think of, and it's always been influential on my own work, so I'm really glad I came across their art recently while browsing FA.
I dunno whether to call it quick or not, considering I've seen some artists do complex speed paintings in less time. But it's quick for me as I usually get overly invested in a drawing and before I know it, it's 2 months later. OTL
