Okay I know this shouldn't bother me but it seems MLP fans don't even know much about horses or ponies. They tend to call female ponies "fillies" and male ponies "colts"The words colt and filly are terms for BABY horses/ponies.
This is wrong.
Ponies go by the same gender names as horses.
Female pony: Mare
Male pony: Stallion
and the most recent episode of MLP : The Mysterious Mare Do Well prove my point that female ponies are called MARES.

We call them colts and fillies because that's how they're referred to in the show. We're sticking to the show's standards, even though most of us do know the proper terms.
Maybe you should do some research yourself before getting all huffy over it. (:

Have any of the characters on the shows called each other fillies? and I don't mean the baby ones like applebloom and sweetie bell.
