yup. well the only reason it didn't do so well when it came out was because of executive meddling. I read up on the film and a TON of stuff was removed from the final product.Β

yeah I know. I think I'm going to have to get my library to order it from another library. I don't know if they sell the prydain books anymore.Β

i'll have to keep an eye out for them. I'll probably enjoy them as much as I did the movie. I hate it when fans of the books get all elitist and trash the movie because they're not like the books.Β

well, the two are very very different. but i do understand that movies get creative liscences.Β
though my impression of a book will affect my view of the movie

I read the snow queen years before frozen came out and because I knew it wasn't going to be like the actual story I thought I would hate it. But... Frozen is one of my favorite movies even though I loved the original work. Β Also I enjoy reading the Redwall books but I also liked watching the cartoon even though the cartoon took creative license.Β
The author of the black cauldron books liked the movie, so take that how you will.Β

i like both versions. the original ending made me cry and the disney ending made me happy.

most sequels are. where the first was about overcoming your obstacles and becoming stronger, their only obstacle is mushu being a selfish prick and honor vs your heart
