Description Another one from May, in fact, RIGHT after Tahno lost his bending in the show. This was one time that I really jumped on art between episodes and drew my hopes and dreams and speculations for the next week's episode! And...they sort of came true...but not entirely, when Korra ran into him at the police station. Poor guy, I was seriously messed up over this little shit.

Naturally, I'm not shipping canon in the Avatar series again...Last time I was a Zutara supporter...this time I'm basically everything except for Makorra! (I could get into why I hate Makorra, but that is a story for another day, if at all...)...Anyway I love Borra, Korrasami, and TAHNORRA.

Naturally, none of my ships are EVER going to happen. Naturally, I'm not going to get as much development on Tahno as I want. But screw it, I will still love the heck out of him and Tahnorra and come up with a multitude of headcanons to replace the reality with! Can't wait for season 2. If Tahno doesn't get his bending back or come back a little or become a snarky buddy to the Uh-vatar, I will be extremely upset.

I kinda want him to be that git that reluctantly joins the protagonist and slowly becomes less of a dick as time goes on and he becomes better acquainted with them.

Here's basically the situation in the picture, that I wanted to make a fanfiction of but I couldn't get it going? So here's what I wrote about it, copy-pasted from the tumblr post [link] way back when this was new:

"...basically it’s a personal headcanon/speculation/hope of Korra passing by Tahno being in some way obviously depressed and knocked down a few pegs, in this case, he’s practically sitting in a fountain not caring that he’s all drenched and just staring at the element he used to be able to control like a sixth sense and overall in a very bad place after the incident at the arena.

Because he’s essentially lost it all; his bending, his way of making money, his reputation…

So Korra goes and starts talking to him. At first he’s sure she’s there to gloat or tell him he deserved it for cheating, but Korra verbally smacks him up for that, but assures him that no one deserves to have their bending taken away from them.

Then he thinks it’s pity.

But Korra does know what it’s like to lose her bending from fighting the Chi-blockers. It was temporary, but she understands and empathizes with that fearful, defenseless feeling that is hurting Tahno.

And chances are that if she’s been told the stories from Katara, Korra knows that even non-benders can be very powerful people and can still fight. Tahno’s even got a leg up on that since he’s fit, and he’s clever.

And now, they basically have a common enemy in Amon and the Equalists.

AND SO THEY BECOME FRIENDS SORTA I DUNNO."

Anyway, HELLO TO ALL THE LOK/TAHNORRA/TAHNO FANS here on DA!! I have another, better drawn Tahno I'm gonna upload in a second!

I love how you draw Tahno's fingers touching gently water. It is amazing! All these emotions...

And you're right. Makorra is just not...

I didn't like Tahno at all really until after he lost his bending. Seeing him all pitiful like that made me love him though It would have been awesome had this scene actually happened in the show (and I'm with you on the "all ships except Makorra" thing; Makorra just seems empty to me).

Me too, kinda! I mean I liked him for what he was when he was just the jerk rival character, but then his bending got taken away and I don't know, suddenly I was thinking about the potential this could give him for a turn around, kind of like how Zuko has such a beautiful arc in the first series...Then I saw the clip of him all defeated in the police station when I was in the middle of this piece and I was just a MESS! lol I had so many Tahno feelings that week, even though I get the feeling he's not meant for much than what he's already been in the show. Boo.

Like I said, I just want him to end up being Korra's jerky buddy. Joining the Korra Crew might be too much to ask but EH. I can hope. *weeps*

(And ugh, me too! I personally don't like how messy and unresolved the triangle with them and Asami became, and how Mako was so unapologetic about everything and just...So many Jerk Maneuvers he pulled and I don't feel like they got resolved, really, cause I still feel like he's a jerk. and the girl going for the handsome, aloof one that doesn't seem to care...that's new.)

I know, I really hope they bring him back as a more central character in the second season! I don't really want him to join the crew, but if he could just come in at times and end up helping quite a bit in an episode, even if they don't want him to, that'd be awesome. I just don't want only his hair to make appearances in the background like it did after he lost his bending.

I know right? I was a big Zutara fan in the first series, but I feel like the creators just made Makorra as compensation for Zutara not happening. Idk... I guess I also just didn't really see Korra being with anyone. I can kind of see her being with Asami, but ya know, our society hasn't evolved enough to allow homosexuality into children's television shows yet...

I feel like they tried to make Makorra the new Zutara, but they didn't really understand what Zutara was actually about, because I'm definitely not satisfied, lol!

I'd actually be fine with her not having to be with anyone but oh yes, Asami is definitely my favorite option these days, though it'll never happen, ugh. I think they have a lot of opportunity to be Besties if they'd just devote a little show-time to it! Actually that would have been GREAT DEVELOPMENT when Asami moved in with her, if they hadn't been so intent on making conflict out of the romance.

Yeah I know, same here. The creators probably just saw it as "Omg Zuko, you're so freaking hot and emo!" and "Yo gurrrrl, with my fire and your water, we can make some hot steam if you know what I'm talkin' about ;D" Really it was so much more!

Omg I know, that episode felt so stupid to me! It's like "Really, you have to make her a petty bitch? WOW..." I mean yeah at first I didn't trust her because I thought she was going to turn out to be an Equalist spy or something, which I was almost right with her dad, but they could have been so awesome as best friends at least! *sigh* Maybe next season... Which I hear is supposed to come out soon. This summer I think.
