Ranger Rick, an ancient raccoon who takes his daily meals up at the nature center from the many bird feeders we have. He sauntered up for a bite this afternoon and I snapped some shots. Honestly, when some animals get old they forget about that nocturnal thing. Silly raccoon!Related content

Ranger Rick was also the title of my favorite magazine when I was a kid, many, many moons ago. Back then, it was written for people who could read. Now, it's just pictures. Very disappointing.
But, this Rick is a handsome devil, even if he is chronologically challenged.

I believe that's who he is named for, or at least that's what I tell our visitors! He is quite the good looking gentleman, though you can see his age when he moves around. He isn't quite as spry as some of the younger raccoons poor guy!
