I don't know if you were serious about your question, but "It's not news anymore that plants may "cry in pain" when attacked ..." . It always surprises me how widely publicized, yet poorly known, this information is. I suspect it's because we really don't want to have to think about all that suffering we cause. I hope that it's not that we know and don't care.
As far as this kind of thing goes, I think it's probably roughly comparable to a bee sting, to the tree; annoying, but not serious, and temporarily painful, but soon (by tree standards) forgotten. I think it also matters what the intent is, as in so many things. Being so long-lived, it seems likely that trees would be sentimental, so perhaps they're understanding about it, if it's done with love. (Yes, I know that sounds bizarre, by old-fashioned, conventional thinking. So does plants feeling pain, but that's true.)
Anyway, nice shot! The glimpse of the flowers makes all the difference.
