Description Avengers fanart! I had to do at least one. Although I still kinda wanna do a Captain America one. Maybe Thor and Hawkeye too? I guess time will tell.

I had to do one of Thor's brother, Loki. He was my favorite out of the Avengers aside from Captain America who, in my opinion, is still the best Avenger. Why did I like Loki? Ah, well let's see:

1) I always felt sorry for him in the movie Thor. Being lied to and living in the shadow of his older brother Thor, trying to look for acceptance from his father who loved Thor over him. Granted, I think Loki was still a weaver of lies even back then and willing to get Thor into trouble so that he could be the favored son, but even then part of me still felt sorry. If that had happened to me, I'd be upset too.

2) His costume (although the work in progress has yet to be colored) is not only a cool design, but the color combination is green, black, and gold. Yeah, that's a pretty sweet combination! And I'm a sucker for the color green. And I think his staff weapon is pretty cool too.

3) I liked Loki as a villain. He was a man with a plan and I thought quite sinister as well. He had a creepy look, wicked smile, and pushed everyone's buttons. The scheming, plotting, I'll bide my time sitting in this cage until everything begins to fall apart. Pretty sweet.

4) Loki (and even Thor) had a very Shakespearian way of talking. I loved it. I'm not the biggest Shakespeare fan, but it's very unique of speaking. Very eloquent, very old fashioned. I thought it was very cool and gave them another dimension from the other characters as well.

5) I loved how Thor still had some love for his brother and hoped that he'd come home and stop all his mad ideas. And I almost felt like Loki almost kinda wished that he could go back to Asgard with Thor and have things be okay again...but then of course his hatred, jealousy, and hurt feelings got in the way. But I know how it is to have a brother (a brother I love dearly) and I think that's what makes me love Loki even more. If I were Thor and we had a childhood where we'd played together and we had fought side by side as we had grown older, heck yeah I'd want him back in my life like old times! Just another reason why I loved Loki and wished that he would be good again...despite knowing that's probably not going to happen.

But yeah, those are my reasons. He was pretty awesome. So he gets a quick fanart from me. Since FanimeCon is next weekend, I probably won't be coloring this or *DustBunny-Studios (which I've started coloring) pictures until after the convention. My last minute costume arrangements come before this.

If you haven't seen the Avengers, go see it! In my opinion, it is an awesome movie in all aspects.

This is so adorable! And yeah, it makes sense that him and Thor have that Shakespearean dialect since the director of the Thor movie was a HUUUUGE Shakespeare junkie, and directed Shakespeare movies and stuff. It sucks he won't be directing the second Thor movie though. ;n;

I would TOTALLY dig seeing your chibified versions of the other Avengers. ;D

Well Thor and Loki are from Asgard anyway and they have a very old-fashioned way of speaking as it is. So the Shakespearian tone really fits with the Gods of old, even in the comics. And, then like you said, the director was a guy who'd done Shakespeare. Heck, Tom Hiddleston has done a lot of Shakespeare himself in play productions and radio.

Yeah I've been thinking about doing the other Avengers. I really want to do a Thor one and a Captain America especially. I thought they were so awesome.

Thanks!

No problem, hope to see more! Wow, and I had no idea Tom Hiddleston did Shakespeare stuff in the past! That's pretty rad. 8D

Yup, he did. It's on his wikipedia, but the reason I knew was because the interviews for the Avengers are on on youtube and I've watched a couple of them (I think Chris Evans doesn't get as much love and I"m sad for that). And they've mentioned past things they've done and such. Yup. It is pretty cool.

You a Loki fan too, Obelisk? I'm thinking if I can find a way, I'd like to cosplay that outfit it's so dang cool.

And yes, he does have a fantastic grin. One of the best evil smiles that I can remember.

Naturally, he's been the main character in 'journey into mystery' for a while and he's brilliant in it (though he's been reincarnated as a kid, still that's comics for you)

Yeah I heard about that "reincarnated into a kid" part. Looks like he actually helps Thor out. That's pretty awesome.

He does indeed...Well...He actually gets Thor killed but he had to in order to fulfull some prophecy to save the world and.....Okay, it's a long story (And don't worry, Thor is better now, super heroes never stay dead for long)

As long as Thor is okay and Loki is doing good, that's aces in my book.

"He was a man with a plan ..."

haha, isn't that Cap? "The star-spangled man with a plan", and all that

Very awesome picture! I love a good detailed pencil sketch. You know, I didn't really like Loki to begin with (though I haven't seen Thor, so I don't know the whole story), but seeing this and reading this may have changed my mind. He is quite interesting, and I'm a sucker for characters who set up their goals and then bash down everything to make them happen. XD

Well, Loki had his own agenda and plots going. So...I think he was a man with a plan, sure. But I can't argue with Cap being the man with a plan. Those orders he gave out at the end to all the Avengers was so...*___* AWESOME! Gave me goosebumps to hear him take command. YES! Gotta love Cap.

Haven't seen Thor yet? I saw it once but it was enough to make me feel for Loki. Really? Did this kinda give you a new mindset about him?

Agreed! I'm in love with Cap. "Hulk? SMASH." As my dad pointed out, he's still a soldier, so of course he takes command on the battlefield! So cool. <3

I'm going to watch Thor at the first possible opportunity. My sister already watched it and she said I'd love it. And yes, I like Loki now, though I'll probably like him even more when I know his whole story. I think it's interesting that he and Thor really care about each other despite being on different sides. Kind of shakes up the whole "Cain and Abel" concept.

I know wasn't that "Hulk. SMASH." line totally awesome! He is still a soldier. Even when he asked Tony Stark, "Is this the first time you lost a soldier?" Gotta love his old fashioned, soldier background. He has every reason to be the leader of the Avengers. More than qualified.

I think you'll like Thor. It was pretty good and I remember it had some funny humor in it. Well I think they do care about each other to...some extent. More so Thor caring about Loki, but Loki is jealous of his brother so...maybe a little less? But I felt like, in the Avenger's movie, Loki almost had that look like he could possibly, just possibly, consider going back with Thor when he told him to "come home". I felt like there was almost a teary look in his eyes, but of course his anger and hatred and jealousy for Thor would never let him say yes to that. Could be just me, but I saw it. And yeah, Thor and Loki do have that "Cain and Abel" feel to them.

I actually liked him as a villain because it's so enjoyable watching the snot get beaten out of him

That was such a funny part. I mean yeah, I still kinda felt sad for Loki being smashed by the Hulk. I mean...that's gotta hurt. But he so deserved it. And Hulk made that such an enjoyable moment too good to pass up.

I think it is almost unanimously accepted that that is the best part of the movie. Loki's face after it happens (pretty much) seals that notion.

Best part of the movie, huh? Hm. I mean I know a lot of people love that part of the movie. It really is so very popular. But the best part of the movie? Hm...But there are so many good parts of that movie.

Did you...kinda just...have a stroke or something?

That was one of the fun (and annoying) things about this one. Details. Imagine if I drew an actual picture of him instead of chibi. Maybe this chibi will gear me up to do such a thing.

Thank you kindly.

Badass? Well I think that's the first time I've heard him called badass, but hey he was really. Oh I hope to put him in color. Green...I could not pass up an opportunity to use a green colored pencil. That's just pure bliss right there. Someday he'll be colored. It'll be much better I hope.

Yeah, Loki was bad ass in both the Thor movie and The Avengers movie, he's my favorite Norse God, what's wrong with that? :Llama:
