I was really excited to upload this picture since it's one of my best ones, lol...It's a black dragon from some story I was planning to write...

Great design and detail on the dragon! I would suggest making the shadows on the knight a bit darker so he stands out a bit more from the background, but nice job either way!

Depends how it's done. You want contrast to make things stand out, like how some parts of the dragon are really dark, and some are really light. So by darkening some parts of the knight he would stand out more, though if he's darkened too much, then yeah he will stand out less. Alternatively, you could also darken the background around him and leave the knight the way he is.

No... but he lives in a cave all by himself. You see, black dragons are the most harmless species of dragons, however they are larger and have powerful fire-breathing ability so the townsmen find them more threatening.
Red and Green dragons are more aggressive, but are weaker.
Due to the amount of hunting black dragons are almost extinct.
So it's up to one guy and his crew to decide whether they kill the dragon or not. It's all apart of a quest they're trying to do.
