I don't like my scanner - it burnes the picture a bit to much so i have to darken it a bit in PS.

awsome, i am drawing him too (not posted) and everything looks great, but what did YOU use for his tuxedo suit (thingy). i used some pencils, but not that good... any tips?

nice, you're drawing the same photo?
I only used paper and pencils (+ erasor..). The softest pencil I have is 8B but I rarely use it. Might have had a 6B on the darkest parts. And the white/light parts I just try not to draw in at all.
Looking at your pictures you don't have a lot of different grey - might be an idea to buy a 4B, 2B and maybe a 2H?

hey, yeah, yesterday i went out and bought a full set of B and i already had a full set of H, just too nervous to use them, will it mes up my pic, i will post the Nishikido WIP, i think i have improved greatly; and then i can discuss what to use.

don't be scared of using different pencils and experiment. if you are scared to mess up your nishikido wip then maybe start on another drawing and have as a goal to use all pens or so = really play with pencils and try.

Gorgeous! I somehow love the part of the jacket, and I'm jealous of it.. because I can't do that, those tiny white stripes.. They always get smudged by my hand or something! Awesome work. ^^

those white stripes - you have to draw from left to right. i try to draw from left to right most of times cause i'm an expert at messing up by putting my hand on the drawing. groar! hehe.

I can see you don't like smudging. It's like me. I've tried it but prefer simple tiny lines.
