Given Jorie's one of my favorite characters I figured she deserved a remake into my spiffy new character sheet format.

So, presenting Jorie Rikard in all her accessorized glory!

There's gobs of stuff in this that's never seen the light of day even after existing for 6+ years. The real detailing on her guns, the keepsake coin she wears under her shirt, her thing for licorice sticks (what does an orally fixated person who hates cigarettes do?), colors for her dagger and the caster gun she whips out when she really wants to fuck up someone's day.

And yes, the caster gun-- in concept at least-- is pulled right from Outlaw Star. (The design itself is original and only bears passing resemblance to Gene's caster however.) Given that the seeds for this character were born from me watching Outlaw Star on Cartoon Network in 2001 and promptly asking my gamemaster if I could have a character with one of those caster guns... *cackle* I figured I should keep the name and look as a homage.

If I ever get around to making the comic she's in I'll uhh... have to change that or something... =__=;;

Only thing I'm a little iffy about is the knee strapies. What I had before looked cool but made NO sense. This at least makes some. Otherwise I am incredibly pleased with this.

Now that this is done, I'll be scraping the old one: [link] Credit for spatter and bullet hole brushes goes to ~Delrosso and *redheadstock respectively.

Steal her and I won't have to beat you up because she'll do it for me!

Actually that's a great profile for the character. It is here that you can write stories about this character. Keep up the good works.

Jesus!!! I'm speechless with such great work. Not only the design of the character and all of the details, but also de detailed description of each part of the character sheet. Great job!

lol, so true! She does prefer comfort and practicality to being trendy or stylish, though she does have a certain perchance to outright sneer at garish colors and certain styles, (heels, miniskirts! Though she has worn heels once in her life, for about 5 minutes.)

Her coat was actually a gift from Oberon, product of a chance meeting in which luckily he was in a good mood, so that when she sassed him he found it cheeky and amusing rather than being pissed and cursing her with a vengeful pixie hoard or something. It's a spiffy thing, regenerates damage over time and can even change it's cut and color, though Jorie never did get the hang of doing it consciously.

Woo~o! I babble today!

I've always loved Jorie's design; And let me just say, that bone dagger is pure love.

Heehe, thanks! I'm glad people like her so much, makes me feel like less of a freak.

The color scheme just came to me for the dagger, pure bone color didn't seem quite right. Nothing like some dark accents and a spatter of rust red to make something look sinister!

Omigod, a Tressym! My favorite EVAR familiar from Faerun! Wow. That's a super win.

Hehehehe yeah. These aren't quite the ones from Faerun (though I love those too) but there needed to be a distinction between normal winged cats and the more intelligent, powerful type Haley is. I want to do a sheet for her with both forms and write up their relationship.

Sweet page layout. impresive detail. text good enought to read. maybe i'll try a bit of this layout with mines the next time i do one. last one i did was for my character Zara Tinx:[link]

Yeah, the key to the text I’ve found it picking one or two stylistic fonts for character name and sub-titles and then using something –very- basic but related for the rest. Like all serif fonts or all sans-serif fonts or all organic/hand written fonts. It helps to match letters forms too when using multiple fonts, like the two different ways the lower case "a" can be formed. Verdana is my default generic "this needs to be legible" font though when nothing else works, which is the small text here.

Thanks for the compliments! It's great to find other people whole love making character sheets too!

Does he really? I haven't played it but I've heard a lot about it. The original inspiration for him came from Phantasy Star Online for Dreamcast that I was playing alot of at the time.

I can see how that might be a tad worrisome but in reality he doesn't have much direct combat value outside of defensive mechanizims. Mostly he likes to nag Jorie like an over-protective parent. I imagine him being much like Batman's butler Alfred.

Hey, she's lookin' good these days! It's cool to see her design change over time. I love how her hair pops out especially, thanks to your color choices.

ladyofdragons In reply to tinkerbelcky [2008-01-04 18:19:42 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, thanks! It actually amazes me that her design hasn't changed as drastically as some of my other older characters have. Just a lot of refinement and fixes of incongruent things. I've gotten so many compliments on her design over the years I think I'd have people mad at me if I changed it too much. lol! XD

And yeah, despite her fairly mis-matched costume (*snort* Fashion? Whuzzat?) color was very important. Actually I think that's what made important come to think of it. I'm glad my choices were sucessful!

tinkerbelcky In reply to ladyofdragons [2008-01-06 05:22:38 +0000 UTC]

It's the little refinements that make her look so developed. I like the mis-matched clothes--she's a mercenary, so she could have picked up her different clothes all sorts of ways, and probably wasn't inclined to splurge too much to make them match.
