Description I wasn't really sure what to do with this one composition-wise. I tried some different framings and they all looked off somehow. I'm still not really happy with it, so any thoughts are welcome. Here's a try at Princess Kida being called to the Heart of Atlantis. I found her a better (slightly more screen-accurate) skirt for this picture.

I don't know what framing you attempted before this, but I think I see why it feels off to you. I even double checked the real scene to confirm my theory. This is a big moment in the film. Not even plot point wise (though it is). I mean in scale. The heart of this missing world is awake for the first time in ages. So during this scene, the camera was often in a wide or extreme wide shot to portray that. Try rewatching this scene to know what I mean, the only time it would be ever close to Kida was to show a change in emotion. Then right away pull out again to continue the epicness of the moment. You're trying to capture that epicness, but the camera cannot portray that same scale. If you still want it close to her, you could always try altering the camera's angle. When a camera looks up or down at subject it also invokes a sense of superiority or inferiority. The whole bird's eye or worm's eye view. You don't need to do a crazy extreme but that could help too. Definitely looks cool though. I love this moment in the film and props for doing it

You know, I think you're absolutely right. It does look better from a distance. Thank you so much! Maybe I'll render it that way and do a comparison.

Good luck! And even if you want it close ish, just do the bird's eye camera, which funny enough they do a few times too XD It will just take some experimenting

One of my fave scenes especially at the end of it, when she sees that her mother returned to her, her bracelet
