I hope you enjoy them if you get to read them. Oh, and on that subject, I readΒ Monstrous Regiment and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the excellent recommendation.Β

No, but I suppose there are similarities. In the books, they work for a paranormal investigation agency called Fittes, which is known as one of the three biggest and best ghost hunting agencies in London. (And among agents, agency uniforms seem to be something of a status symbol a lot of the time.) Lockwood & Co. is a tiny, rather unknown agency in comparison, so there is a strong rivalry there.Β

Thanks. Yes, and their appearances are just my versions. They may be slightly inaccurate. I didn't have my books on hand to confirm that what I'm remembering is exactly right. Kipps and Godwin, at least, I'm fairly sure I'm remembering well... I hope. Not 100% sure how thoroughly the other two were described in the books, so hopefully there's nothing glaringly wrong there.Β XD

Lol. Ah, I wouldn't have thought of that. Some of the stuff there really would be random without having been put in context by information in the other books. The first book does a better job of introducing the tools of agents and why they work on the ghosts, but that's to be expected. I'm glad you're enjoying the short story, though. It has an interesting ghost.Β Β

Because it's kind of common sense of what the tools are use for no?

Most of them, yeah. Stuff like fresh lavender being used against ghosts might not make sense immediately, but I don't think that comes up in that book, does it?

Not yet and lavender is known as a ward herb in witchcraft

Ah, okay, I didn't know that. But yes, in the books lavender is used as a ward against Visitors.Β
