Description This is a COLLABORATION between myself and .

:
Nebula brushing, pure fantasy, no reference.

Me:
Starfield
Planets
Some minor brushing and misc things.

*****

The Core. Well, it's what it sounds like. This could be viewed in many ways I assume, the way intended is for it to be from inside a nebula, atleast thats what toni says ^^. Nebula is brushed in photoshop freely by mind. The planets I made is also pure photoshop as well as the rest of the image.
I had a great time workin on this piece with toni, good support and a joy just to collaborate with.
More work will come from uss, next time is of course gonna be better.

Hehe, that's one way to view it .

It's some time since that was made but I do think that it's still kinda cool. The nebula is in the classical style so it kinda sticks still. I might do something similar to this again, I like the style. Tho cranked up with new-age flavor ^^.

Chers man!

ladyrapid In reply to Stut29 [2006-11-14 21:02:05 +0000 UTC]

To be hoenst it's not really a "tiny" detail but rather more of a mistake haha. When I made the collab with toni the size were kinda big and I added the spaceships to that size, when we then cropped it down the ships followed, beeing in that tiny bit stage lol.

It became detail but was from the beginning proper spaceships

I kind of don't like how one of the arms of the nebula is over the planet, it makes it feel a bit like a curtain.

However it's a very nice image.

ladyrapid In reply to GameMakerThomas [2006-11-01 22:58:26 +0000 UTC]

Well the planet is where it is hehe. It's an easy way to automaticly create depth, to place things in front of other things ;D.

Don't really know why it ended up there, it just did.

xRed-thunderDragoNx [2006-10-31 22:42:17 +0000 UTC]

that's fantastic, indeed
there's so much depth, and the way the level of detail was very hight without corruptin with the concept is impressive

good planets, althought they looks a bit weird over there, i think.

that's fucking great kids xD
keep that up! ^^

ps.: are those thingys spaceships coming from the planet?

ladyrapid In reply to xRed-thunderDragoNx [2006-11-01 00:45:01 +0000 UTC]

Yea it's 2 ships, tiny tiny ships ;D. Yea I know the planets look wierd in there in a way but I wanted to make planets so I did, sue me . They're good still ^^.

ladyrapid In reply to xRed-thunderDragoNx [2006-11-01 22:40:32 +0000 UTC]

Hihi, they're so tiny so I could easily just have used like a donut and resized it , I didn't tho but now afterwards when I think of it I could have added anything there for that size

xRed-thunderDragoNx In reply to ladyrapid [2006-11-01 22:58:47 +0000 UTC]

donuts!

great idea XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to xRed-thunderDragoNx [2006-11-01 23:11:04 +0000 UTC]

Yea lol, well the point is that usually you make spaceships rather small and the most you see of it usually is some more darker materia with some tail of light after it, why not use donuts and shape them a lill. Just for the fun part .

"Spaceships created with donuts!" , sounds much more fun

So close to being perfect - the fact that the planet is inside the nebula just wrecks the scale of the scene. Unfortunate. Brilliant painting though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to PlasmaX7 [2006-10-30 22:02:05 +0000 UTC]

Well, since this is an "fantasy" piece I see no reason why the planets cannot be "inside" the nebla .

Thank you!

hey! nice 1. hehe first piece on ur way to greatness rite? haha. btw where do u find ur textures?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to cswcswcsw [2006-10-30 22:04:29 +0000 UTC]

Yep, this is the first of many to come ^^.

Where do I find my textures? Well, I don't really hehe. I use different methods from time to time.
Sometimes when I'm in the mood I just sit and draw the textures myself. Other times I take photos of mine at random textures and play around with. THe third way I do sometimes is that I get satelite images and brush them with detail and such. So yea, different methods are beeing used for my "texture - creation" .

Pick one ^^

haha thanx. and what about the nebula brushing? my classmate prefers to do planets so maybe i learn nebulas and collab with him. so how do u get the idea of what u want and how do u brush properly with a mouse?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to cswcswcsw [2006-11-01 23:06:32 +0000 UTC]

The nebula brushing is here made by =toni-niskanen , all I did on the nebula was some add-on brushing to the base.

What is required to brush with a mouse? Well. Patience for once hehe, compared to using the tablet it's so slow brushing with a mouse especially in the beginning when you're learning the whole process. I'm not very good at all brushing ( yet ) so I can't really answer this question properly sorry. THe things you need to have in mind when using a mouse to brush for example nebulas is that it's required alot of changing settings more frequently compared to tablet users that have the plate which is preassure sensitive, helps ALOT .
You jump around pretty much with opacity and preassure changes as well as sizes on the brush etc etc. Thats basicly it really. You don't need any flashy brush sets to make good nebula works, the original brushes dues just fine, and with some tweaking in the settings you'll get pro brushes in NO time. What defines a good brush I guess is how it runs when you brush it alot, for example when you do nebula brushing you might not want a really hard brus with shard edges, but rather something more random with a bit opacity or whatnot, those settings are so easi to alter and change in the settings of each brush.

Thats the help you get from here sorry, as said before, I'm not any good at the whole "brushing concept" ( yet ) so I only know all the theories and not the practial parts ^^.

Head over to lets say =sumopiggy or my bud =toni-niskanen , they're be more able to help you with your wonderings .
