2nd Quarter: Illustrator Homework assignment... geisha project EVERYBODY had to do this one... I think it turned out decent.Lots of mistakes.. but hey they are all MY own

Hey guess what finally seen this toki doki thing and many of you are correct same concept maybe same image. I dunno But Toki Doki thank you for your wonderful work.
Fan art? NO, I am not a fan just a student who did the assignment exactly as the teacher requested

As for the assignment I was recently informed it was an illustrator tutorial package that is with the educational version of AI, the artist gave to Adobe. Or so I was told.

One thing that bugs me to hell is someone who steals other peoples work and ideas by trying to pass them off as their own! You should of at least changed more than just the coloring and hair if your gonna rip off the original from tokidoki. Or even a credit to the real artist - simone legno - for giving you this inspiration!

Criticism is one thing, but to attack someone without properly informing them of maybe a mistake is another. You could have been more polite about it but you were the one to attack first. Where was the critique in the art itself? I take criticism very well, but attacks I do not. All that was necessary was to send a note informing me.

I mean, you're 28. If you are old enough to be in art school, you are old enough to be educated on copyright violation laws.
If this was an oopsie by you or the teacher is no matter... it's a rip. If it's for class or no, it's no matter. It's fanart... not your own original.
Furthermore...
Your teacher should be flogged... what an awful assignment, and how unethical of him to assign a rip-off without even mentioning the original artist to his students.

As for the teacher, he said he was unaware of the original artist as the packet for the assignment that was provided for him to give to us did not state who the real true artist is. As for copyright violations/laws. I did as what is required in regards to school assignments. You give credit to the artist and i did as best as I could seeing that I have never heard of Toki Doki.

just wondering because i have the same vector image on my wall (the same design with different colours). i snipped it from a calendar years ago.

everybody had to do the same character but add their own colors to it as well as pattern on the kimono and such... it was a no choice assignment. If you check my friend lists you will see the same girl (drawn slightly differently) in each of our galleries.

i guess. the teacher said he didnt know who the original artist was therefore me and the rest of my classmates who did the assignment did not know who to credit.

thank you. to be honest I never heard of tokidoki or seen it. I feel a little embarassed, because it was just an assignment to recreate this LOL, the teacher didnt even know who the original artist was it wasnt listed in his book.

I still wanna know how you use Illustrator that well, I still hate it with the fiery passions of hell because it wouldn't do what I wanted it to :/ Then again I never really had it long enough to mess with indepth, damn trials.

It's a fanart, isn't it? I've seen alot like this in computer arts magazine, wall painting in a studio art in internet, a korean website I think. but yours is pretty cool, despites of the thickness of the line edges, the outlines. Maybe you could make it smoother.

You might want to take this down, or at least credit Simone Legano of Tokidoki for everything except the... colours and slight modifications to the face and obi.

actually if you read the description it was an assignment given by my teacher ... and as for the design none of us (as in the students) did not know who to credit. If you look at some of my friends ... one being bonnie bon she as well has this art piece up and another called ditton has one up as well. I do not take credit for the design but for the re-creation.
I know it is not an original I did not claim it to be.
