Description Well, no real indication or reason for him to be a prince, I just liked the way it sounded.

I've been working on this off and on for a month, since my friend Justin sent me the photo I used as reference. Lando is a wet cotton t-shirt is just damn delicious. So I was inspired to make a tasty little painting.

I honestly like this one a lot. I love the little details, I love the way his skin looks so smooth, and the way the colors all blend together. His shirt was orginally gray, but then I decided to add a little more color.

The hair could be better, but it was my first time coloring hair that's supposed to be kinda wet. But the blood turned out pretty nice, and (to me) actually kinda looks like blood.

I don't have much to say about it, really, other than that I think his eyes are tasty. They turned out quite nice.

I have to say I think the skin is so absolutely smooth that it looks touchable, like silk. The eyes are ridiculously amazing, the deep inner glow and so many shades of colors of green in them.. I could get lost! Loving the texture of the shirt, and the little goatee. I think the collarbone is looking super nice myself, and it does slope up and then curve off over the shoulder, so I don't really see any problem with it as it is. I just love all the little details you put in everywhere. The blood is looking a little viscous, kinda syrupy dripping. Perhaps it's just after the moment of splatter, but blood does leave stains on everything it touches.. anyway, really beautiful face. The hair could use just a smidge more work... it looks very stringy and stuff which is good for the wet look but the blunted ends look a little awkward. It has a great shape and messyness to it though!! Sorry I haven't been commenting much.. I am trying to catch up now

This turned out really good. I like the blue/green tones, and overall it's very well done. I especially think you did the slightly tilted face very well - personally I find that angle very hard. The eyes are stunning. There is something about the nose though - the face seems to be turned ever so slightly, but the nose seems to be turned the other way because of the size of the nostrils. Also there is something about that bone that runs towards the shoulder - I don't know what it's called. It looks very bent and too prominent - usually I think it's not bent so much. Very, very good though - I love that blue hair, and not only because it's my favourite colour. I think you do a good blend between desaturated colours and highly intense colours, which makes this one interesting. How on earth do you do the ear so well? It looks totally right. (Do you by any chance know of any tutorials on that?) Well done!

ladyshalafae In reply to Ciuva [2005-06-17 01:18:32 +0000 UTC]

well....i got the ear done so well because i was using a photo reference. so i could use the photo to make sure i get everything placed right, and then it was just a matter of continuously working on the color, and smudging it together, and then laying in more shadows and smudging more...i love doing the little detail work.

his nose might have gotten off-set because i found myself tipping my head to look at him straight, and so i probably was lining it up to that direction. bad habits.

as for the collarbone (the bone between chest and neck that runs to the shoulder)....that's a really sexy sexy part on a man's body, imo, and so i like to really make it stand out, and i prefer the ones that curve up. my boyfriend's got a really narrow chest, so it has a drastic curve that i can just chew and chew and chew on.

Ciuva In reply to ladyshalafae [2005-06-17 06:24:10 +0000 UTC]

The collarbone was what it's called, yes. I haven't really seen all that many collarbones, so I'll trust your word for it. It IS a sexy part, I totally agree with you on that.

not enough people show off their collarbones. which would also mean they're showing off their necks. and necks are yummy.

but that's the vampire in me talking. o,.,o

His eyes are beautiful! I love how gem-like the blood is - it looks so tasty!
This is perfect. The only thing I'd say is about the colour of the inner corner of his eyes: perhaps they should be a little pinker? I don't know. Perhaps that wouldn't fit with the rest of the picture. No, it wouldn't. Ignore me.

This is fantastic. FAAAVE!

i tend to stay away from purples, because i hate when they turn out pink in something.

although, i'm working on a purple dragon right now, so i can only hope i don't screw it up.

what i really want are some of the colors you use.....i wanna know what palette you've got

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lupie-stardust In reply to ladyshalafae [2005-06-19 10:40:38 +0000 UTC]

Pallette? I don't really use a pallette. I swatchify the vital colours I love that I'll never find again EVER (like for Valour's hair, Mal's eyes, perfectly burnable gold, perfect blue, lavendar for skin...) but the rest I go by eye. That way, everything comes out nice and random... I could make a little "Lupie's Magical Swatches" guide and stick it in scraps, if you like
