This was probably my biggest sewing project this summer. Took about two weeks or so. Entirely hand stitched, every last drop...X_X I had the fabric kind of laying around (bought it on sale 'cause I thought it was so pretty ^_^ ) and finally decided to turn it into this. The applique is snitched from an antique wedding dress I got at a thrift store. You can't quite see from these pictures, but the bodice has a bajillion little buttons down the front, as well as decorative pleating. It is actually a period bodice, so can't be worn without a corset. It was quite snug, and had to take little breaths while dancing, but I love it. And that dreadful skirt is quite heavy, pipe-organ pleating (Again: X_X ) at the top, and SEVENTEEN FRIGGIN FEET circumference at the bottom...whew...so...much...trim....Anyway, quite proud of the final thing, and it's extremely bloody period accurate!! (Yes, I also hand made the choker and the gloves and the hair piece...yes I have a problem...)
