Description Okay. This one I started this morning (yesturday) and finished at 12:30 tonight (thismorning). She's biting her lip by the way - if you can't tell.

I wanted my pencil strokes to be revealed in this. I wanted to draw something large scale and exposed. It made me a little uncomfortable, but I feel good about what was acomplished. Her neck was challenging because of the strange position. don't usually spend so much time on a mouth. I learned a lot from this drawing.

I ADORE the image. I mean, WOW!
The eyes and eylids are wicked, aswell as the eyebrows, I think they have to be my personal favourites on the image.
The lips are very cool too, and it's very visual that she's biting her lip, if there's anyone who didn't see that well, they have to be blind.
And hey, the work you put into her neck really does the trick, cos it looks hmm how do I say ... very sensational.

Weird, I love necks too. A nice neck is just hmm, tasty! If I was a guy I'd be after the girls with the nicest necks.
I can't believe there are people who didn't get the thing with the neck. I mean HEY, that's one of the most sexy details on the pic.

You've done a fantastic job on this, the eyes and the mouth are so good. Personally I think the lip is right, the teeth wouldn't be over the lips as they are very plump and she'd have to have a whole lot of lip in her mouth. You are right to trust what you see in your reference and not draw what you think you see. The only thing I'd critique on this is that her top looks a tiny bit 2-dimensional in comparison to her face and it looks like you may have got fed-up with the bottom area of her hair and rushed it slightly. But again those eyes! wow!

hahaha - you're right on both the bottom of the page and the clothes. Not much time went into those area. I tend to do that a lot. I focus haevily on the face and then loose interrest and want to move onto my nexr project. You caught me

Yes you're right, I saw earlier comments where it was mentioned that the lip should have been different but I didn't agree and I thought I'd let you know so you didn't think you should have done it differently.

You know the reason I knew you had rushed those areas was because until recently it was exactly what I used to do, I'd start with the eyes, work out to the rest of the face, be really happy with that and then want it over with. I really have to force myself to take my time and it has definitely improved my work.

You just said EXACTLY what I do!! I start with the eyes (my favorite) do the rest of the face, around the face, then want to move on. Ugg. I WILL have to force myself.

Thank you for saying the lip thing. I went back and looked at the source and realised I did do it correctly I always go back and look after a critique.

Because of YOU, this new drawing I'm working on, It involves stripes on a shirt. Tiny details. I'm taking my time and went carefully and slowly back over some parts. I want to draw this one from TOP to BOTTOM Hope it works our

Ooh, really looking forward to seeing it, I'm confident it will work out even if you're not . The one I'm doing at the moment is from top to bottom but I'm actually drawing it from left to right as I'm drawing it laid in its side.

Do you know who Chuck Close is? He's an artist who works at all angles of the painting/drawing. That sounds like something I would like to try at some point

This is fantastic. It is great to see there are still artists who flaw me in this area. It gives me something to work towards. I particularly like what you've done with the hair, eyebrows, eyes and lips. The darkening on the left (her right) side of the lower lip helps to communicate that she is biting it and is not simply deformed. A couple of things I would alter are the left (her right) ear which I would give more shadow to produce more feeling of depth. Also, her hair goes strange at the bottom of the page. I'd advise having another piece of paper undernieth so you don't get cautious around the edges. Overall it a fantastic piece as I have already said. I've learned a lot just by looking at it. Well done.

It's from a photo of Milla. No - Ican't draw like THAT from my head yet. I wouldn't have been able to get her neck right if I hadn't looked at the picture. I'm getting to where I can. But I'm not reddy to let go of the training wheels yet

I put links sometimes but a lot of times I get images from magazines or my own personal photos. I don't really LOOK for photos. If I see something I like I draw it

I wish I had more time to do art. The thing is, I'm trying to finish a novel at the moment, and I'm finishing the school year and starting to sort out the whole university application process. Such a drag!!
