Ta-da! I re-did this picture. Kind of an interesting idea, huh?
I wrote a fanfic a while ago on fanfiction.net, in which I mentioned something about Weevil knowing how to play the cello. I think illustrating it was fun to do.

I have a bamboo flute (I created that for my music project a year ago) , but I'm not good at playing woodwind instruments so please don't laugh at the reason why, but it's because I can't whistle. The only instrument I play is the drums because they're easy; I also like rim-shots.

Even though I know the flute, I can't whistle on my own either. I've never been able to.

I actually have an imaginary YGO minor character band with Weevil at keyboard, Rex at vocals and electric guitar, Bonz at drums, and Esper Roba at bass guitar. XD I laugh every time I think about it.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of many of the main characters in YGO, besides Kaiba and Tristan. And of course, Joey provides a lot of humor.

Kaiba could be so much better, morally, if he tried to get along with people, but...you make a point; his fans might not take to an agreeable Kaiba so easily. It's a little scary to imagine him that way, too.

*nods* Yeah, some of his fans might dub him a Gary-Stu...which I just realized he would be. O_O Kaiba...as a Gary-Stu? You're right. That would be scary. Yeah, changeing his attitude would kind've be like saying, "So what if my parents abandoned us, my brother was bullied, and I've never felt joys of nurturing love. Have some flowers!" Okay. That made me laugh too much.

I thought that it was mentioned somewhere that the mother died during/after having Mokuba, but I'm not sure about the father.

Hmm...I'm not sure either. That was kind've fuzzy. All I really know about from Kaiba's past was that Gozaburo was a complete-[censored by 4Kids] and Kaiba started yelling at him that he was going to kill the guy or something so Gozaburo jumped out a window because he was so scared...O_O Which I now realize is a pretty odd idea.

Wow, I don't remember that scene! I haven't actually seen it (or I just don't remember), but doesn't Kaiba jump out of a window sometime in season one?

Oh, I see. Wow. When you think about it, it doesn't make much sense that Gozaburo would die that way...they couldn't come up with anything better for the English version, could they? So, in the 4kids version, do the postures of the mens' hands and arms just make it look like they're holding guns, even though they're not there? I'd like to see that.

*shakes head* It didn't make sense. Though, to be honest, I was surprised when 4Kids didn't just say that Gozaburo was so surprised, he just "disappeared". They seem to be so keen on editing. ^^' Yeah, it does look like they're holding guns...INVISIBLE guns. I think that what 4Kids was going for was that the guards were pointing at Kaiba...Because, well, it's threatening since...*can't resist* It's not polite to point!

Yes! "Let's teach kids manners so that our ratings will go up with the mature adults, since, goodness knows, we'll never get big with the people who actually watch anime!" I could definitely imagine a 4Kids executive saying stuff like that

I definately couldn't draw a pose like that without a reference. And by "reference" I actually mean copying a photo, heehee! Good job. And it's nice to see some realistic depth added to Weevil. In the show he's a pretty flat character who usually only focuses on one thing.

That's true. It seems like a good way to expand peoples' view of him. As for the pose, it took me a while to figure out that the cello is held in front of the musician, not next to him.

I tried playing the cello once... but i guess my hands were too small, so i just kept up with the violin

Cool. I have trouble with stringed instruments (I tried violin once), so I play brass and wood wind. I had a friend who used to play the cello, and the only reason she chose it is because it's the only stringed instrument that requires the player to sit down.

Cool - we didn't have an oboe player in our school, so they got this kid's mom to come in and play it for them. I've always liked the saxophone - it has such a jazzy sound! :cool:
