Alright, short explanation. That passage Asch reads from Luke's diary is the actual one from the game. Word for word. Luke threw up out of shock rather than disgust though; but in my comic, Asch took it as insulting. XD Sooo basically, Asch thinks Luke despises him and Luke thinks Asch rejected him. The end.

The synopsis you can access through your game menu (that summarizes what's happened and gives you a hint on where to go) is Luke's diary. It might not be obvious all the time, but it's written from his perspective.

And the first time where Luke see Asch isn't the time who Asch trying to kill him? It is therefore not surprising that he keeps a bad memory and he was disgusted by the fact that this guy looks like him right?
Actually, Asch could have read Luke's diary, maybe when we can control him while that Luke is in Yulia !? (I will try in my next party)

The first time Luke sees Asch's face is when he (Luke) is running up to him to try and rescue Ion. Asch defends himself, but he doesn't necessarily try to kill Luke.

I talked about last time before this meeting, where Asch really tried to kill Luke, and where Van have stopping him. And in the OAV, at the time when Luke sees the face of Asch, I think that if Asch has done nothing to his replica this time, it is mainly because Synth arrested him.

This is based off of the RPG, Tales of the Abyss for the PS2 (and now 3DS). Some people shorten it to ToA or TotA, but ToA is much easier to say.

As the case with most of these things, the first release, whether it was first a manga, game, anime, etc, is usually the best. Abyss was a game first and the game is much much better than any of the other material produced. The game has the most information concerning the story and the characters. Since the companies expect game fans to follow the manga and anime, they left out a lot of information from the game. Basically, I recommend the game. TTb Best animation, pretty good dub, and much more fulfilling.

The Japanese word Asch always calls Luke is "kuzu", which means trash. They made it into "Dreck" in English probably because it sounded a bit more original and sophisticated. It's a German word but I think you can find it in English dictionaries now.
