Description My half of an art trade with . She wanted me to draw a fairy of my own design.

Wow I have been surprisingly productive lately! Sorry about the incredibly simple, almost nonexistant bg though, *LyzzART . I feel like I'm cheating you but I don't think a detailed background would suit this. I had a little grass and was going to have the view of ocean and sky, but I don't know if I'll actually stick with that.

I don't think I quite like how my color choices came out!!! XD

Don't worry about not having a very detailed background, it's amazing the way it is. Otherwise the background would draw my attention away from the beautifully drawn fairy!

Thank you very much! My mom liked it too. She said she wanted it but they took down the dividers between the desks at work so apparently all the other fairy drawings I gave her that she hung up are sitting in her drawer. She should give them back to me! XD They're old now but I like to keep my old work. =3

Thanks, glad you like it! I'm still so unsure about the background and I feel bad because all the other bg's I did so far are more complicated than little flowers. =3 I did try though!

I don't even know what colors I'll pick for her yet!

That's funny, you remind me a lot of... me! I feel the same way about the ten free sketches I offered. I'm very concerned about keeping them all the same quality, like how much time I spend on them and how detailed they are... to be fair to everyone, you know? But in the end that's all kinda silly, because each drawing is different, each character is different, and even the media is different!

Don't feel bad! I would be happy even if the background was completely blank. Plus, look at her costume design! Your characters always have such cool costume designs

Aww thank you! I was going to start coloring it last night but I still didn't know what sorts of colors I wanted to use. Maybe I'll close my eyes and choose. XD

Oh man, I totally know what you mean about choosing colors! I have a ton of early WIPs of paintings with alternate colors. For the fairy... hmm... to me she looks like she could use a purple-ish outfit... but that's just me musing-- any color will look good!

I was going to do purple!! Then I changed last minute. I should have stuck with purple. But it's done now so can't go back. haha

The colors turned out great! I love the range of cold colors-- they fit well together. And that's really cool how you did the sky, was that all colored pencil work? Wow, I would never have the patience for that...

You're very welcome! Yes, the sky is colored pencil. I take scissors and scrape a little of the pencil onto the page and take my finger and rub it in so the sky is actually pretty simple.
