It's a reward you get that slightly increases the chance of finding shinies, but it's not by much so you can't really tell. You get it for completing the national Pokedex vuv

I'm working on trying to get a shiny Mawile right now but that's taking forever orz I'm about 530 eggs in, even with Masuda Method and the Shiny Charm
omg I tried to hunt for a shiny Mareep twice with no luck. The first time I stopped after 7 hours of sweet scenting and the second time I found a shiny Wingull instead XDD

I see I've been kinda lucky with the Masuda Method, hatching a shiny Phione could have taken forever (because it takes forever to hatch those eggs I swear) but instead it only took about 250. ;W; I've actually been kinda lucky in general, except when hunting for a shiny Petlil in a Safari with that, Pansages and Quilladins. I got both a shiny Pansage and a shiny Quilladin, BUT NO PETLIL. Yuppiii.
As for hordes, I got a shiny hoppip on my first try, no luck after that. I'm cool with having only a pink male Jumpluff which is the manliest pokemon ever.
As soon as I get my 3DS back I'm gonna get a shiny dunsparce because that's been my dream ever since I first saw dunsparce.

Masuda method only really helped me out once with getting a shiny Ralts after about 40 eggs orz Though that one turned into my shiny Gallade. I actually got this one from a friend who was nice enough to save me from breeding a new one ;u; Oh man safari hunting is always how I go. That's probably why I've gotten over 45 shinies XDD I actually found a shiny Petilil once! I was trying to update a friend safari then just there it was ;u; I love my shiny Lilligant so much she's so adorable <33
and oh man I'm still sad about this I was trying to hunt for a shiny Swadloon for my friend, but I was talking to my friend and didn't realize I found a shiny Quilladin since I was looking at Youtube and accidentally ran away from it orz
omg yes manliest fluffball alive that's beautiful. Hording worked twice for me, once with the Wingull, but the first time it happened was an accident. I was trying to complete the Pokedex for the shiny charm so I went to look for a Sudowoodo but instead found a shiny Foongus in the second horde. But at least now she works as my sweet scenter <3

I got a Pumpkaboo, a Phione and a Surskit from the Masuda Method :Β°D They all took between 250-280 eggs actually. Nothing too complex :Β°D Then I got a Jumpluff from an horde, a Golduck and Octillery from a trade, and then I finally landed into Safari Hunting >3 I got a Swirlix, a Pansage, a Quilladin - and then my 3DS broke before I could do anything else. Oh and also a shiny Krookodile, which is the only shiny I have on the team and quite possibly my best pokemon - she popped up randomly in the beginning of the game
I wanted a shiny petlil because I wanted to give her a cool name but uh, I forgot how I wanted to call it.
Mah shiny Quilladin is named Knight and is pretty cool with Bulletproof and all!
That's actually the same thing I was about to do with my shiny sandile, I was hunting for an helioptile, thankfully I noticed it was shiny before I ran away. xΒ°D I was eating meanwhile and not really paying attention to the game. I choked on my cookie when I realized.
