It was inspired by the costumes of the apsara dancers of the royal courts of Siam, which are very luminous by the gold and silver threads woven into the silk

The Apsara as an angel / muse has long resonated with me, and to watch the apsara court dancers of my people and that of other Asian countries is a cosmic experience I am trying to share with my art . . . the dance in my country is called "Pangalay" or Offering

Actually the use of the Janggay (that's what we call them in my country) are nail extensions that help emphasize the hand movements of the dancers, especially to make their hands seem like wings
