The name "Bai" was a once formal address to women, such as the word "Lady" or "Madam".
The costume worn in this drawing is that of the Gaddang. The Gaddang are a highland people, found in the province of Isabela, Luzon island.

E sa Father side ko naman ay dogong Kankana-ey at Apla-ay bontok naman.
Kaya ay ako ay isang Hybrid na, kasi nag halo na ang dogo ko.

this series has a more modern touch into it, does it?

The costumes represents the traditional Philippine ethnic costumes as authentically as I could, and I cannot deviate from the patterns
You see I have worked in anthropology before and lived with several of these ethnic groups and have been adopted by some, hence I cannot 'modernize' their looks
But the metallic pen do give the modern feel to the series
