It's a big painting, about 48" square, so it took a while, at least a month. But I was well compensated for the painting. There's amazing detail in the engraving on the rifle and the holster, but it doesn't really show in this relatively low res image.

I can see that, and it's time well spent! I can't imagine putting down such detail in paint; graphite and digital artist can simply erase mistakes, whereas I could imagine it to be a lot more tedious for painters.
