Description Did a pretty speedy paintjob on this guy. Had a fun time, too. Problem is, I don't want to paint the rest once I buy them, so I really don't know what to do now.

The figure is one of the new TMNT Nick figures from Playmates.

I have all four and they look great. But seeing your work on Don here I would luv to see how Mike Raph and Leo would turn out!

Excellent job man! Nice coloration. My suggestion on the others, just give them a wash to bring out the details.

I want to, but after seeing what a straight wash looked like on this guy.. I really don't know if it'll look too much better on the rest.

I'm thinking of being picky and just buying Leo, though. I've never cared for mikey, and, while I like the sculpt of the face on Raph, I just wish they would've made the open mouthed expression work more for basic poses.

You're painting yours up, too, right?

ha, I just picked this guy up for myself yesterday, even posted a review of it on youtube. I mentioned that the unpainted accessories might have been an homage to the old toyline but it does look REALLY nice with some of the finer details picked out.

Yup. This thing is like a blank canvas, and the paint sticks so well. Also, sadly, the hand rubbed off some of the on the handle, so those darker areas are just patchwork without anymore drybrushing.

This turned out insanely well! I just ordered the 11" ones today from TRU and I know I am going to wish they looked like this. Great work!

What kind of paint do use? I'm thinking of doing the same once I they start selling it in Portugal!

Modelmaster Acrylics and Tamiya. For some drybrushing (only on the handle in this one) I use thicker, more dry canvas paints.

"don't want to paint the rest"

You mean that when you get the others, you'll feel some kind of compulsion to paint the others to match this one you did?

XD

Looks good.

HFahahahah (sorry) I don't mean to laugh, but I think I have similar tendencies, so I understand what you mean.

If you really think that it will bug you, you should just buy a complete set of the new figures, including Donatello. Then this one you've painted would just be a special, stand-alone.

That's.. actually a very good idea. The only problem is that I don't really have the money to just blow right now.
