It's unlikely that SEGA would ever take the "furry" approach to their characters, but I'd say you captured Blaze's semi-realistic look well.

You have a well-developed technique for drawing Sonic style characters! I like everything about it. The shading looks awesome - like it belongs on a trading card or video game cover.
I don't have much of a critique, since I'm unfamiliar with these digital techniques. I am trying to figure out why I love it so much and learn your secrets

well It looks very realistic,but still cartoonish. If that's the idea you were going for you did a really good job on that,I would say on if this is what you were going for,the shoulders,the clothes look too flat,its more like someone put shrink wrap for clothes on,even the form fitting clothes has some wrinkles around the bend of the elbow a bit.
I really like how the fur is details as it is,it ads great texture and leans more toward a realistic drawing,I would tone that down just a tiny bit if you want a more cartoon vibe with that aspect.can be too harsh.
the eyes,they show me most of a cartoon look,the eye coloring of the iris is beautiful as always,but if you wanted a more realistic look here, the eyes look like shes mildly shocked to see something which works for cartoons,but if you wanted a more realistic look to this,the eye lids wouldn't be as open as this,but a bit relaxed. the bottom eyelid would maybe just be a millimeter or two before making contact with the iris and half or more of that with the top as it would overlap the iris a bit more.
the coloring and shading is good,but I wonder about the strength of light you wanted, it seems to be mixed. the surfaces being hit with light are pretty bright where as the shadows are very faint,it seems inconsistent. (I tend to overdo the shadows) the longer I look the more this drawing seems like a stuffed animal~,so i'll wrap this up.
this is a great piece overall I wouldn't be at all discouraged or upset with the outcome as it is one of a kind.,I hope to see more.

Yeah, this whole thing was a bunch of different experiments at once.
I was going for something semi-realistic. Β I was trying to make it look more realistic with the fur and other textures, but still a bit cartoonish with the eyes. Β I didn't pay too much mind to the clothes, so I can totally see where there are mistakes with that. Β I'll be sure to pay more attention next time.
I didn't really notice it until you pointed it out, but now I can really see what you're talking about with the eyes. Β If this is relaxed, I don't know how I'd draw her shocked.
Well, I started out shading her muzzle, and was going for a stronger contrast which is why the shadows are heavier there, but didn't think about it as much when I shaded the rest.

Β yeah I'm still working on light as well,but getting better. its still a great pic and still the coloring and shading on the neck really reminds me of the fluff on plush animals~>
