Description Found this cemetery in rural Pennsylvania, near the Mason-Dixon Line. There were four or five infants buried here, lost by the same parents. Really makes you thankful for the day and age in which we live!

Thought the difference between the 50mm and the 10-20mm was astounding here.

Both images appeal ......... Both just as powerful but if I had to choose it would be this shot , it slightly edges it for me

so...have had a lil time to look at these now! definitely something different..but executed so well! both have a strong impact..both in totally different ways! in this one youre immediately drawn to the headstone..after a moments pause you start to wonder away to the trees and sky, almost forgetting..perhaps trying to forget..the feeling inside from seeing such sorrow. very beautifully and tastefully done, LeeAnne <3

Thanks so much, DD...knew this wasn't my usual thing, but felt I had to shoot it. Glad it's gotten such positive response. Very appreciative of the support on my experimentation!

Each one tells a story. Most have been forgotten. In the big, big world (under the big, big sky) one very small reminder.

I couldn't help but think about the story here.

This is great as well, adds much more scope to the photo, but I still love the 50mm a little better.

This one has an almost surreal look to it!
I think I prefer the other one, though.
It has such a perfect atmosphere considering the
focal point.
It's such a shame, all these babes. My Aunt used to tell us it was
quite often that the mothers were too tired to deliver healthy babies.
Too tired, and most often already with too many. Illness and complications.
So much that we just don't even consider anymore.

I agree! I never thought about that, if the parents had other children. Wonder how many of them there were!
Thanks dear Holly for you wonderful comment.

You're welcome LeeAnne

When my great Grandparents came to Canada, they brought 7 children with them,
and added another 4 or 5 (I forget which)when they were here.
How many died in between those ones I don't know. They were lucky parents.

they tend to be all in the same timeline... it's scary to think how the flu used to play out.

Yeah, I was wondering if it had to do with some kind of epidemic...and none of these infants was over 5 days old.
