Description Had a blast watching the 4th of July fireworks in Seattle.

So I couldn't decide which fireworks picture to post, so here's an encore. And I can't take credit for the title...thanks to Addam for unknowingly inspiring it.

During college I worked for a photographer (a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away). He was hired to shoot a mall opening with fireworks in wintertime--left me sitting on a hilltop in single-digit temps with a tripod, a Hasselblad and a Rollei (which together cost more than my college education). Had to leave the shutter open and cover it with a black card between explosions, but the air bulb cable release FROZE. Didn't get one shot. Feared for my life. So fireworks shots always impress me!

Awww...I love that story! Not because it's funny, it's just a really memorable tale, I imagine, plus it really demonstrates the great lengths to which we'll go to make photos. Sometimes to no avail. Inspiring story, though. Thanks for sharing, Terri!

Yeah, it turned out better than my flower shots. You definitely timed that one better than I did! Really was a fabulous night. Thanks again for a great time.

funny thing about the timing..had it on 2 second delay at that point! was just luck and creative cropping!

I wasn't very thrilled this time around either. I was much happier with the fireworks from New Year's! But thanks...my 4th was awesome. Hope yours was too!
