Ops, i spelled it wrong before, it supposed to be 'hainan' from the word 'hainanese'. Basically it's rice cooked with chicken broth and other ingredients like garlic, salt, etc., but I don't know what the ingredients are for sure, it's different from place to place

Rice pilaf is cooked with the broth while the rice is still raw. Hainanese rice I think is stir fried right? Or both are identical? almost..

Yes, Hainanese rice is stir-fried first and then boiled. In my opinion, rice pilaf and Hainanese rice cooked in similar ways, using broth. But the difference is the seasoning. But you know, food is not always the same. One type of food can be cooked with different ways & seasoning depending on the place hahaha so I don't know exactly how this is cooked
