I'm not sure Tintin's pants are quite that short (generally, they hit about mid-calf). Also, the red-headed boy reporter is more pacifist than you have him right here, but I like the dichotomy.

Well, as far as I know, he is more of a technical pacifist; he will avoid fighting as much as possible, but is more than willing if he needs to. Although, I need to make a distinction between "simply showing off" from "blood knight face", which seemed to be the problem that you saw.
