Biography: As far back as Yusa can remember, she and her brother, Moyasu, acted as the guardians to an island community off the coast of Japan. The inhabitants cleaned and cared for their statues and the duo provided fertile ground for crops.

One day, a typhoon hit the island hard, and Moyasu's statue fell into the ocean, and Moyasu, bound to his statue, disappeared with it.

Unable to support the island on her own, the inhabitants left for another island over time, and Yusa was left alone for centuries. The lack of care for her statue diminished her power even further and on top of that, the solidarity caused Yusa to develop an unusual sense of humor.

Jump to 1920, Yusa, invisible to the rest of the world, barely keeping the grass around her decrepit statue green, has been reduced to the form of a little dog. A research ship from Seattle lands on the island, where her statue is soon discovered.

Reclaiming the statue for historic and informational purposes, the Seattle research ship sails it overseas back to Washington, unknowingly bringing Yusa along with it.

Bemused by this new world Yusa found herself in, but unable to do more than gaze wearily from atop her statue, she sat behind a glass display case for nearly a decade until her spiritual power was discovered by the SCR.
