Description
Menhir:
Menhir used to be a great and famous city, ruled by a ruthless and fearsome Primer who conquered and gained a wide sphere of influence with an army of fierce warriors who wielded a special, compact EMIR that completely outshone the performance of any other military weapon. After a slew of dramatic battles against the equally powerful city of Ioh Prime, Menhir’s leader was slain by Odom Ioh, a young but powerful prince. Ioh Prime relished in their victory, but found that they could not reverse-engineer the EMIRs that they confiscated from Menhir. Instead, they collected them all and destroyed them, so that they could never be made again.
Menhir, having no heir, was taken by Tyranus Curgyle, a deplorable and cruel tyrant who ran the city into the ground, oppressing its people with an elite force of soldiers who are loyal only to Tyranus. Menhir is now a sad, decrepit wreck. Filled with slums and vagrants, the colossus slowly chugs along the desert sands.
Menhir is still a popular trading hub due to its location, as the sand wastes are always in between the positions of at least three cities at any one time. This is where it pulls in its revenue to keep going. It’s also famed for its alcohol, a noxious brew called Oleos that is produced from the tiny saplings that grow from the vast desert sands.
Trade caravans must be cautious, however. Because poverty begets desperation, and an unguarded caravan travelling across the wide, open desert is an easy target for sand pirates…
