I know they're not "purebred" chickens, but I couldn't find a single picture of a Silver Spangled Hamburg for the rare breeds feature, and it's an adorable photo besides I'm sure they were equally adorable when they grew up.

I could get you a purebreed picture this summer. I plan on doing a fancy chicken photo shot. Polish, Cochin, Silkies, Silver Spangled Hamburg, and a couple other breeds. Did you see my Silkie rooster [link] . I hope to get shoots like this one, of our other breeds.

That would be great to see! Your Silkie sure has character I'm currently a student, but when I graduate this summer and (hopefully) find a place of my own, I'm getting chickens. I had originally planned to get just Silkies since they're sweet, but after taking some avian sciences classes and learning about genetic homogeny in industry chickens and disappearing rare breeds, I've become interested in housing and propagating other types. I'm packing as many aviculture courses into my last quarter as possible to be prepared!
