Be glad it was taking a nap. You've never met a creature as flat out mean as a goose. Around here they'll attack you if you're having a picnic and case you into the car.

Are Canada geese really that hostile? Where I live, they're pretty calm. The worst thing that'll happen is they'll hiss at you if you get too close to their goslings, but they leave you alone if you leave them alone.

They're pretty aggressive unless they've been around people, they like to chase folks and especially little kids and can do some damage. Plus they poop everywhere which is a big issue.

I remember my favourite lake being shut down for several days last summer because there was so much geese droppings in the water that there was a chance it could get people sick -_-
