I really like this character design.  The plague doctor image is a fascinating one to me and this has some really neat parallels with it.

The really interesting quality you brought to this design is that the plague doctor image is really quite terrifying on its own.  In this case, there's something almost protective looking about this Scarecrow figure.  I could see this as a bodyguard or small child's guardian. 

Maybe I'm just odd though.
