BIO: Ran Wukong is the heir to the Wukong Clan, one of the six Zoan Spirit Animal Clans. The Monkey Clan was known as the greatest military power in the world until the Crownguard army was rallied by the Black Witch. Their incredible skills in martial arts paired with their heightened senses were unparalleled. One day, when the Young Heir was only a year old, something Miraculous happened. Sun, the Clan's original Deity, appeared before the Wukong Clan. He is the Monkey Spirit that created the First Human-Monkey Hybrids. He is worshipped by his Clan as a God. He warned the Monkey Clan that in the coming years, a terrible tragedy would befall the world, and as a result, the Wukong Clan would be destroyed. Ran's Father and Mother were shocked and frightened. They asked the great Monkey King what they should do to avert this disaster. Sun told them there was no way to stop it, but he could use his power to take Ran to a special hidden location, and keep him a secret from the world, and he alone would survive. The Leaders of the Clan had no choice but to give up their only Son. Ran was taken away to a deserted island off the coast of Xiao, and raised by Sun and the native Monkeys that lived there. The Wukong Clan continued their lives, pretended an Heir was never born, in order to keep Ran's existence a secret. They also began construction on a great wall that enclosed their northern borders, cutting them off from Crownguard in preparation of the Monkey King's Premonition. Then, finally, the day came that spelled disaster. The Black Witch, recently crowned as the Queen of Crownguard, appeared before the Monkey Clan. She had heard of their superior combat abilities, and saw their Great Wall, and saw it as a challenge of power. She offered to spare their lives, in return for their service. The Wukong Clan, ever loyal to the world, outright refused, and launched an attack on the Queen. She easily blocked all their advances, and just as quickly as she had arrived, she left, with a dark grin on her face. Not long after, a great earthquake shook the land. A Mountain-Sized dark object began to rise in the sky. No-one knows what exactly the enormous monster was, only that it came from the Underworld, and wiped out the whole Monkey Clan, and a third of the Xiao population, in 1 night. Sun and the young Ran, who was now aged 11, saw the disaster happen from their island and could only watch. He had no idea who he was in truth and what his parents had sacrificed to protect him, the only connection he had with other human beings was when, quite frequently, people came to the island in search of a rumoured treasure, left there by the now dead Monkey clan. Ran was taught the art of the Jingu Staff by Sun, and quickly became a powerful force. He loved to fight, and took great joy in protecting the island and it's inhabitants from intruders. He also developed a love of flags. Whenever he saw the flag of an airship waving over the treetops, he knew people had come to the island, and that he would be able to quench his boredom for at least a short time and fight them all off. He was able to disarm and defeat any intruder without ever being seen. He became known as the shadow of the Inner Sea by those who were chased off by him. Then one day, Ed, Tai and Yumi were sailing the Inner Sea, and found themselves with no choice but to stop at the island to make repairs on their ship. They had also heard rumours of a beautiful treasure, and a faster-than-sound guardian along with it. They decided to explore the island while Gale worked on the Glory Runner. Ran instantly leaped into action. Awhile into their walk, Ran confronted them, but Edward was able to deflect most of Ran's attacks. He had never met an opponent so powerful before. Eventually Ran was defeated by the trio, and they could finally get a proper look at him. That was when Yumi realised who he was, and although she couldn't quite believe it at first, she took it upon herself to explain to Ran who he was, and what had happened to his real family. They all realised that the fabled "treasure" said to had been left on the island by the final members of the Wukong Clan was actually Ran himself. His parents had left the most precious thing in their life, their only child, on the island. Ran was distraught by the news. Edward offered him a chance to get revenge on the Royals for what they had done to his clan, by joining Ed's Rebel Army. Ran initially refused, saying he had to remain here to protect his family. However his mind was changed after his adoptive father, The Monkey King, convinced him to join their cause and that he was perfectly capable of protecting the island. It also helped that the flag on top of the Glory Runner was the most magnificent Ran had ever seen. And so, Ran joined Ed's team as the third member of the Rebel Army.
