I wanted to post this sooner once I finished it but I've been busy with commissions lately
I spent most of June animating myself a new icon to use for this site and others, and I had an idea to animate something like this for Spades so it was perfect for an icon~

His smile is one of my most fav things about him he hides a lot for the cat he is And theres just so much to know about him!! its an amazing icon and the little gleam he gets in one of his eyes is just invigorating he looks like he is ready to play cards or even see through the cards with spinal eyes that he has. The immediate change in expressions astounds me to how smooth this animation is for you to do that.! must of been a couple of frames to do this and time but it really pays off. Ahhhh your original stuff has me hooked! well done with this! ;u;

THO if I may ask, what do you do to compress the icons so it fits decently for DA's format? Is there a particular amount of frames that works better for icons? I'd love to do more icons in the future but I wasn't sure what works best.

Well if you notice, the timing and speed of this gif as my avatar is off. What I had to do to optimize this while keeping as much of the color as possible was I resized and compressed the gif somewhat in photoshop, then I found this site that had many more ways to compress the gif further that my photoshop didn't have options for: ezgif.com/optimize
Try to play around with the options on this like omitting some frames or speeding up the animation and see how much smaller the filesize can get. Once it's okay enough you can download the newly optimized gif. DA's filesize limit for avatars is just ridiculous though, idk why they never improve it. It's a wonder that I got my icon to fit at all

Yeah I saw the timing, but damn you still did a good job! And yeah I don't get why they haven't tried to fix that file size setup, it really is a pain in the ass if you don't compress the animation enough- I remember one time I did an animation and brought it down to 6 frames and it still was too big??? Might've been the colors now that I think about it. This is so helpful though~ Thank you so much!
