This is pretty good for a 1h drawing e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

But there are some points that distract me:

There are some Anatomy issues: The right eye is a little bit to low, so is the brow.
And the left eye is out of position as well - the superciliary arch of it should be a little bit bigger in that place, and fluently go over in the cheek. (here it looks like the both (Arch and cheek just go into the eye) The left cheek is shaped as would she smile, but for keeping this effect, you have to shape the mouth a little bit different (for example a shadow on the left corner)

Also you should work a little bit more accurate - there are some lines in midden of the face (like scars), don`t think there are supposed to be there. Same with the hair, it looks like random lines, not really hair.

Use some more contrast, it is really monochrome, no highlights, no deep shadows. Especially on the hair this could benefit.

Thanks !

I agree about the eye. I wasn't really paying attention because I was tired and wanted to do it quick, but I've still got to improve a lot. I agree about what you say, I see it now

About the "scars" these are in fact my construction lines haha x) And I usually don't work with any rubber so I didn't about erasing them. And again it was for me just a sketch, but I always end "polishing" it more than I wanted...

I don't really work with "good" equipment, well it depends, but this time I made this drawing using only a mechanical pencil (HB I think).

And I thought maybe with the hair less contrasted, the face would pop up more ? Am I wrong ?

Again thanks a lot for your critic !

Actually, this was my first ever critique

The eye thing is really common mistake, I have it regularly too (
Sometimes it just need someone who see the drawing the first time, for getting noticed it...
Polishing is good ) Better making better, than more ^^

about the contrast - I think here has everybody his own truth... I like contrast, some don`t. The only way to get see how it works for you is to try ) Sure, if you make the hair with more contrast, you will end up doing everything with more contrast ))

Thank you too for a good reaction ) It is easy to offend someone with a critique ^^

Haha ok !

Yeah I totally agree with you
And then again I have a lot of work to do so that's why I can't spend more than one hour on personal works. Especially, it was intended to be a short break to stop looking at my screen for 20mn (but ended up 50) ^^ When I'm doing big portrait works, yeah, I spend a lot more time correcting and polishing my painting in numerous times so I don't see any mistake anymore. Actually I think I'm gonna start a great painting (at least I hope so, it is in my mind xD) next week, trying to work on it every evening so I can show it next week-end I can't wait to see what it'll look like, I really want to do it great

It's always a bit difficult to accept critiques, but even though I'm disappointed when people point out what's wrong, I try to overcome that to learn and keep my mistakes in mind to improve myself, because I know I'm far to be as good as I'd like !

(Sorry if my English's strange, I'm pretty tired and ill haha.)
