Description The å in the mountain's name (resp. aa in transliteration) is not a. It is pronounced as the vowel in the English words raw, draw, claw, etc.
Similarly ø (resp. oe) is not an o, but it actually doesn't have an English analogue. It's roughly a combination between the vowels in birch and book.

As I mentioned before, the swamps are abundant on Håkøya in this season, and they embraced us as soon as we got off the car.
Soon enough we came across the biggest challenge - a vast marshland area, the kind where you can actually can get stuck and sink in mud.
We had to balance over rolling (and falling apart) pieces of wood in order to cross it.

During that time, my camera was safely tucked away, for obvious reasons.
So this picture is from when we finally made it out of the marsh and onto (somewhat) firm land again.
The marsh is the golden area to the left. The dark spruces are what welcomed us beyond. It was worth it.

01.10.2018, Håkøya.
