Description
A rodent from my bronze-age fantasy world of Dragonía; enísas are among the largest rodents in Dragonía, and the largest mammals native to Vorran Peninsula to the far west. They fulfill a similar niche as deer and antelopes elsewhere in that world, roaming the jungles and lake shores in small groups, each species specializing in eating certain plants to avoid competition, and all commonly preyed upon by crocodiles, snakes and giant amphibians. Since the horns are primarily used for mating displays, enísas' main way avoiding predators is to simply run through the undergrowth.
The reptilian Kroks inhabiting the Vorran Peninsula have long hunted and later domesticated enísas for their meat, and before tree silk became the clothing material of choice, the skins were worn as well. They've since supplanted eretvóas -another rodent species, brought by the Kroks- as their main livestock, as they are larger and more docile, not mention tastier.
