Yes, more power masking.

As I told Gill, ~WelshWench , I started out making a lighthouse scene, calling on my years living in Maine as well as memories of a nice lighthouse in northern Minnesota, Split Rock up near Duluth. The lighthouse looked bland and boring all alone so I made a small sailboat. Then I thought it might be fun to try something more elaborate so I decided to make a ship. The ship then took on a life of its own and here we are. The lighthouse came out pretty well so I'm using it in this revised version.

I've been home with bronchitis for five days and have had nothing but time on my hands. This is the result. 222 layers.

WOW....I am at a loss for words...I have seen people attempt to make realistic scenes with UF and they always come up somehow flat, or not quite right.

When I saw the thumb in my notifications, my first thought was "ohhh I didnt know Kat painted!" I thought y ou had posted up something traditional you had done. Imagine my surprise!

You really are a master of this program. I have always gotten such inspiration from your gallery, but this one really just amazes me in ways I dont know how to express. Wonderful job.

Do I dare to ask how many layers this took?

This was made in stages, as the lighthouse was made previously for a different image but I didn't like the resulting fractal...but I did like the lighthouse. The ship was made just to see if I could do it. Then I put them together. I won't be making another fractal picture for a while yet, as this one drained me a bit.


There are 222 layers in this, not my biggest fractal but still a lot to work with. I've seen fractals of ~Rykk 's that were almost 400 layers [link] so this is a medium-sized image, really.

Thats just awesome, Kat. I would have thought it were more layers than 222 just from all the complexity. I really like the lighthouse and you did a bang up job on the ship. You have more patience than I really would have to create that. Its been neat to get caught up on y our gallery a bit this week. I hope you have been doing well and had a great summer.
