*Edward's POV*

Bella was sleeping. I waited…and waited. There was nothing more I could do. I held her hand, I talked to her. I was in torment over knowing she was probably in pain. But there was something that sustained me; something that gave me joy over my pain.
Renesmee…
When I held her in my arms for the first time, there was this radiating happiness, this overflowing joy that shocked me. She looked into my eyes, she knew me. She knew I was connected to her; she knew I gave her life. Who would have thought…?
I loved her the whole time. This child of mine. She was actually a part of me, something no vampire ever would have thought possible. I smiled down at her and she smiled back, this perfect child of mine.
It was something I had wanted in my human life, something I thought I would never have in this new life.
"How's my baby girl?" I whispered to her.
She reached for my face with her tiny hand, showing me her worry for her sleeping mother and then she showed me myself and my face etched with pain whenever I looked at Bella. She was worried for us.
"It's going to be okay, your mama will be here soon. She's waited for you to be here. She loves you very much."
She touched my face again and showed me Bella again but the feeling was of love as well.
"You love your mama too?" I asked her.
She smiled her confirmation. The another image came to me. It was myself. I looked down at her and she was still smiling.
"You love me too?"
Her answer was to snuggled deeper into my arms. My frozen heart felt like it was melting with a father's pride.
"I love you too."

*Bella's POV*

He couldn't read my mind, and this was a time where I was thankful for it. It was getting late and it was almost Renesmee's bed time. We were in our cottage, and I peeked around the corner of the living room and spotted her in her father's arms. Edward's arms.
She was smiling up at him, touching his cheek and laughing her high-pitched laugh. As I watched, he lifted her into the air and laughed when she started to clap her hands in happiness. I smiled and laughed myself. Renesmee spotted me and pointed vigorously in my direction. Edward turned and smiled lovingly at me and my body started to boil.
The craving for him came to full surface and I knew he saw the heat in my eyes, for his eyes widened with passion and his smile turned wolfish. We both made a promise with our eyes that soon, we would be together.
I walked over and reached over to hold Renesmee but not before me and Edward shared a tame kiss.
"How's our little Renesmee?" I asked.
Edward lifted Renesmee in the air and laughed once more when she laughed and clapped her hands.
"I think you're doing okay. Don't you agree? Tell your mama." Edward asked her.
She smiled her dazzling smile and reached out to touch me. Her image was of Edward lifting her up and her feeling so happy. I smiled and took her in my arms.
"I think it's time for bed." Just as I said that, she yawned.
"I'll take her." Edward offered and took her back.
"I'll be waiting for you." I whispered to him and ran a hand down his spine to his butt.
I heard a low growl come from his chest and my skin felt as if electrical currents ran up and down my skin.
As he took Renesmee to her room, I raced to our bedroom and put on this red number that I got from Alice. I was much bolder now, and I knew Edward would love this.
But I waited and waited and had no idea what could be keeping him.
I walked to the living room, but he was nowhere in there, and so I looked in Renesmee's room. There he was.
He sat in a small pink chair by her bed. His chin was in his hands and he just stared at her. So this is what was keeping him. I wanted to know what he was thinking.
"Edward, what are you thinking?" I whispered, coming up behind him, sliding my arms around his shoulders to his chest and resting my lips to the side of his neck.
Edward grabbed my hands and brought them to his lips, kissing them both and holding on to them.
"I'm thinking about this miracle you gave me, Bella." He whispered back to me. I closed my eyes and smiled at his words. His words made me feel so happy.
"We both made this miracle, Edward. YOU also gave this miracle to ME."
He brought my hands to his face and placed gentle kisses on each finger and I closed my eyes at the silky feeling. After placing lazy kisses on the back of my hand, he turned my hand over to place tender kisses on my palm. I REALLY wish he would come to bed…
"I'm afraid, Bella. Even though you are more invincible then you used to be, I'm still afraid something will happen to you. And now, this precious baby you have given me is susceptible. We still don't know what could happen in the future with her. We still don't know what to expect."
His words brought a pang of reality to me. He was absolutely right. And I really didn't have an answer for him.
"We have to watch and wait, Edward. You and I are together for eternity and we have a child we can protect…together."
"Yes, my love. Together for all times."
We just watched Renesmee sleep for I don't know how long. She was such a beautiful gift to us. I couldn't believe I gave birth to Edward's child, something I never thought to happen. A part of me and him together in this small child.
She was a beautiful child. Her features were of Edward and I perfectly, and so innocent in sleep. She knew she was loved when she was in my womb and she knew she was loved now.
"She's so beautiful, Bella. She's ours. Can you believe it?" he squeezed my hand and turned around to look me in the eyes.
"I know it's hard, but it's true. She's OURS."
"Made by us; by our love. Man and woman…well, you know what I mean, vampire man and woman. We created her together and I can remember EVERY detail. Every…single…one." He punctuated his last words with small growls.
Edward stood up and faced me. He was turning into a passion crazed man before my eyes. He noticed the outfit I was wearing and his hands shifted to grasp me around the waist.
"Mmmm…you look tasty, my love. It's time we retire to our bedroom so we don't wake up the baby, agreed?" but before I could answer, he swept me into his arms and sped into our room.
MUCH later, he whispered in my ear.
"I hope we didn't wake her up, my love."
"Mmmm…I doubt it." I laughed.
"Bella, how would you explain this feeling of happiness every time I think about our daughter?"
I turned to face him and took his face in my hands.
"One thing, Edward. You're a daddy."

*Bella's POV*
