Description Every spring, the Canada Geese come back north, waiting for the ice on the sloughs and dugouts to clear. They nest near the open water, and their honking fills the air with the sounds of squabbles, alarms, and mating calls. Their flight is majestic, and they are often seen perching atop the outbuildings and scouring the cropland for grain left behind by the combine.
