Wow....this is awesome. I was looking at random deviations and this beauty came up. I am glad it did.

What a beauty! I've done quaternion eggs and they're OK, but this has the 3D feel of a quaternion and much more color and beauty! I love it.

Very nice! How on earth do you render so fast? You usually put up three or four pieces in the time it takes me to make one, and I have my computer running pretty much full time doing these things! Is your comp just ridiculously powerful or something?

My laptop is good, but what I usually do is start the renderings in the background and then leave it running when I go to bed. Everything's done by the next morning (usually). If not, it'll get done eventually.
I did change computers recently, from my original Sony Vaio GRX500K to a "new" GRX500K bought off eBay. They're both about four years old, but the new one is slightly newer and has 785 meg of ROM and a 1.7 GHz P4 (the old one had 512 meg ROM and a 1.5 GHz P4). I can see a real difference in rendering times with the new computer. I've dropped a lot of stuff that I don't use from the start-up menu, so no clock cycles get wasted on things I'm not using. Additionally, I've tuned the settings for computation power. Ultra Fractal will also let me shift some of the computation to my desktop, through the LAN, if I can just figure out how to make that work. The desktop is only about a year old and we put a fast chip and a lot of ROM into it when we ordered it. I haven't done any tuning on it, but I will if I ever figure out how to use it for fractals.

Thank you. This one was fun to make (as are a lot of the other) and I'm pleased with how the coloring came out, so I'm really glad you like it.

I'm really glad you like them. I just keep on making them, because I love them, too. They're a lot of fun to make and I think I've actually figured out how to get the piece I want in the middle of the egg.

They are so much fun to make that I almost feel a little self-indulgent when I make one. I'm really glad you like them.

Pretty opalescent egg! It worthy of Faberge'!

I think this is one of my very best eggs, so I'm really glad that you like it.
I, too, was thinking Faberge', but more alone the lines of "I wonder what they'd have charged to make a real version of this?", all the time knowing I couldn't afford it. I wish I could think of some easy way to make the eggs real, like rapid prototyping and enamel. Think how nice they'd be to roll in your hands while you're thinking. They can't be plastic, though, because they need to be heavier to feel right.
