can I ask you something?I love your portraits. They are beautiful.I would like to take some photographs of people too but I am too afraid to ask them.I fear to hear a `no`.How do you get to ask them if you want to take anyone's picture.
What do you say to them?Do you tell them that you will use their photograph on your website and stuff?

I wonder why you call these people in this series peculiar? I don't find anything peculiar about Deafness or limping. I can understand if they looked or acted extremely odd, but these things are both very common in our world.

I think what ~Larchick means by peculiar is that they are special, uncommon, etc. It's true that these disabilities - limps, asthma, blindness, etc. - aren't rare disabilities. However, there's still a huge proportion of people who doesn't have these disabilities, hence they are uncommon to people who haven't experienced these disabilities. I think the point of the photos are to give us, the viewers, a glimpse into the lives of these peculiar people. I've never been deaf nor blind, so these photos are an interesting glimpse into their lives.

I don't think 'eculiar' was meant in a bad way...
