thanks a lot, man. In the past I was always thinking: now how do I get my own style ? In the end I gave up thinking about that, I just kept doing and making things I like. being influenced by everything you can imagine. movies, music, books, other artists, experiences in life.. If you keep doing and making what you like, that becomes a blueprint of what you are and somehow keeps a certain authenticity. I'd love to say that to everyone who keeps making disney or manga fan art, yuck !

I could tell you hate ringtones. I don't use them or waste money on them either. Sweet! Free cookies

Love the artwork, I mean I really love the artwork, but it feels like you've been a bit of a sucker for greenie propoganda.

thanks so much for the kind words and useful comment. I know what you mean, but it's no greenie propaganda, don't worry. it's a big art project and it was more loose and creative. the political or environmental message wasn't very important. I guess they used that to get some credibility. but it was all basically just a lot of fun. and I think it shows this piece is not too moralistic.

This is one of my favorite pieces. I love the anti-ringtone spray and your style absolutely kills it! Now I want to go pen-drawing for a while. Kudos!

This... reminds me of Superjail!---in the sense of
Style. It's simplistic, cartoonish---yet it's detailed
from top to bottom. I love this. And I love Superjail!,
so this is a win-win situation! Great job and good job
on the Daily Dev! 8D

I had to look up superjail, but, wow it's fantastic ! so hilariously cruel and fun !!
details are one of my trademarks. I love it when you can discover a lot of stuff in one drawing. thank you so much for the great comment ! a ship full of cookies to you

YAAAAAY! Cookies! But ya, you're art---I even showed it
to my buddies and asked them what it reminded them of,
and they said on the spot, "The Superjail! structures!"
And I was like, "Yeah, me too! XD"
But yeah, Superjail!'s a gory, goofy cartoon show on
[adult swim] on Cartoon Network. Christy Karacas and Ste-
ven Warbrick created it, and it's become my favorite show
ever since. X3

You don't have a bare idea of how many boxes of anti ringtone spray I'd buy... I swear.
Very nice piece. I'd say it's only 50% of the thing... even if that solves our problems we'd still need to help the earth, unpolluting it and undoing all the harm we've done to it.
Enough said.
Great job!!

hee hee, I know ! the anti ringtone spray is very popular, perhaps I should work it out and sell it. could make me a millionaire..
annoying is perhaps not the right word to describe how annoying ringtones can be in this world.
the piece is absolutely not a 100% world saviour idea. the subject was given to me: "save the world by means of technology". it was limited. and the space was limited as well. only one sheet of paper. it was more of a creative and artistic challenge to come up with a visualisation of the idea.
either way, thanks so much !

This is one of the most impressive artworks I've ever seen.
I'm really lost in it, great great great!
Is there any chance to buy the book anywhere?

laresistance In reply to entengruetze [2009-07-16 23:10:00 +0000 UTC]
wow, that means a lot to me. It's certainly not the best I can, because I had to draw this fast, in the morning, without having slept. but sometimes the best stuff emerges in situations of stress, when the deadline is coming dangerously near.
I really like it when you said "I'm really lost in it". That's exactly what I want. I love drawings that challenge the viewer. Something you can keep looking at, like a "where's waldo"-drawing.
unfortunately, the book wasn't published, but was only to be seen in a very large version, as an art project, in Ghent, Belgium. The pages were poster sized.
but if you watch me, I'll post more information about my future projects and booklets that are coming up.
danke schΓΆn !
